Ban on Jeans , T-Shirts & Shorts after the Convention

what a witness this will give to the community.".

They are becoming more strict, not less, strict with clothing. Years ago (early 70s) when I was a teenager, our family toured Bethel as part of group from our congregation. ALL the sisters, including myself, wore "pantsuits." No one thought anything of it. I heard that now sisters have to wear dresses to tour Bethel.
About two years ago, a friend of mine was a bridesmaid for a sister at Patterson. My friend stayed at the Patterson "hotel" facility. She had just arrived, unpacked, and was getting ready to leave her room (in jeans) when she noticed a sign saying that sisters had to wear dresses at all times. She had not anticipated this, and she had packed only a couple of dresses for meeting, which left her with perhaps two outfits to wear since she packed mostly pants. She is a very loyal sister, but boy was she TICKED OFF!!!!!!
The annoucement is correct in one aspect however. The community WILL notice, and they will NOT be attracted to JWs. It will simply make us look more strange.

g704/22p.8ChangesThatDisturbPeople***Changes
ThatDisturbPeopleTHE churches are in rapid decline. Even in the United States, where religion still enjoys perhaps the greatest popularity, nearly three out of four persons polled said that it is losing influence. Why is there this decline in religion?
One of the reasons is that people are disturbed by what is happening in their churches. Yes, millions of persons have been shocked to learn that things they were taught as being vital for salvation are now considered by their church to be wrong. Have you, too, felt discouragement, or even despair, because of what is happening in your church? A businessman in Medellín, Colombia, expressed the effect the changes have had on many.
"Tell me," he asked, "how can I have confidence in anything? How can I believe in the Bible, in God, or have faith? Just ten years ago we Catholics had the absolute truth, we put all our faith in this. Now the pope and our priests are telling us this is not the way to believe any more, but we are to believe ‘new things.’ How do I know the ‘new things’ will be the truth in five years?"
What are some of these changes that disturb people?

Dear Mr. Sagan:
I agree with you that JWs are "bleeding-out," but Joker10 was appropriate in pointing out a gross error. Raw data, which it appears this Yearbook is comparing, shows an increase. What I think is interesting is that we are now # 25; last year we were #24, and as you note, the net increase is paltry because of so many people leaving.
Here are last years numbers: http://www.ncccusa.org/news/050330yearbook.html

by truthseeker inthe april 15, 2007 watchtower revolves around the congregation, it's benefits and requirements.. the second study article is let the congregation be built up.
under the subheading sticking with the congregation the society acknowledges those who cannot accept a certain teaching even after doing research in their publications.. .

Why,inrecentyears, hasTheWatchtowernotmadeuseofthetranslationbytheformerCatholicpriest,JohannesGreber? This translation was used occasionally in support of renderings of Matthew 27:52, 53 and John 1:1, as given in the NewWorldTranslation and other authoritative Bible versions. But as indicated in a foreword to the 1980 edition of TheNewTestament by Johannes Greber, this translator relied on "God’s Spirit World" to clarify for him how he should translate difficult passages. It is stated: "His wife, a medium of God’s Spiritworld was often instrumental in conveying the correct answers from God’s Messengers to Pastor Greber." TheWatchtower has deemed it improper to make use of a translation that has such a close rapport with spiritism. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) The scholarship that forms the basis for the rendering of the above-cited texts in the NewWorldTranslation is sound and for this reason does not depend at all on Greber’s translation for authority. Nothing is lost, therefore, by ceasing to use his NewTestament.

Question: What is the sealing referred to at Revelation 7:3?
Discusses two phases of sealing, initial and final. The final paragraph states: "When will the remnant of anointed Christians who have initially been sealed receive their final sealing? Any still alive on earth will be sealed "in their forehead" before the outbreak of the great tribulation. When the four winds of tribulation are unleased, all of spiritual Israel will have been sealed in finality, even though a few will still be alive in the flesh and must yet finish their earthly course.

Would Blondie or Mary ever make it as Elders in your old Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwe know the wts will never except woman as elders.in the last year as a member of jwd,i have learned more from blondie and mary than any elder in my congregation.all the elders in my congregation look like they go thru the motions.they are more like policy enforcers than teachers.. do you think that by excepting woman, some men would be embarassed to how little they know?
does the wts know some woman would better teachers?
is it more like a men's club?

Those qualifications, however, mean nothing unless you can pee standing up.
Sorry...couldn't resist.

The P-Mate is SANITARYLanguage: Français
Pmates give women the freedom to discreetly pee standing up
Have you ever found yourself in a dirty, unhygienic port-a-potty?
Have you ever had a full bladder with no bathroom in sight?
Have you ever been afraid to pull down your pants to squat and pee and risk being seen or peeing on your shoes?
Then the P-Mate is for you!- The P-Mate is a revolutionary way for women to pee discreetly without having to pull down their pants and squat.
- The P-Mate allows women to pee standing up.
- The P-Mate is the most amazing female urinary device.
- The P-Mate gives women the freedom to pee like men.
- The P-Mate is clean and hygienic.
- The P-Mate is covered with a 4-leaf clover design as it is good luck to have one with you when you are in need.
- The P-Mate does NOT get all wet and soggy after use. You can easily slip it back into a pocket or bag for later disposal if you are outdoors where there is no garbage can.
P-Mate was invented by a creative Dutch woman. They allow girls and women of all ages the ability to neatly pee standing up.
The P-Mate is basically like a cardboard shoe with the toe cut off. You place the entrance of the 'shoe' directly under your urethra, between your legs, pee into the shoe and then make sure that the hole at the toe end is funnelling the urine out somewhere other than on your feet.

Question for Elders or Ex-Elders re: Marriage
by mya ini was what you call "born into the truth.
i'm not practicing the religion now and i was never baptized.
my fiance is baptist, we care having his pastor whom i very much like marry us.

It really has gotten bad. I attended my good friend's daughter's wedding. Her daughter is almost 30, and though she was baptized at 12 or 13, she stopped attending, became inactive, and married a non-believer. My friend brought some of the wedding pictures to the KH to show people. Some "brothers" and "sisters" complained. The elders asked her to put them away and not show them. ...heavy sigh....
